- DescriptionThe City is alerting residents to a scam involving individuals impersonating the Mayor to solicit personal information and money related to property taxes. City staff recently became aware of a case in which a resident was contacted by someone posing as the Mayor via text message. The scammer falsely claimed the resident had been selected to receive a property tax discount and requested sensitive information, including a copy of a property tax notice. The individual was instructed to send payment upfront in order to receive a fabricated reimbursement.
